FAMILY SESSION: Only ONE chance...I'll TAKE IT!

They were only in town for ONE weekend...

ONE weekend of visiting...in the state of Ohio...in our unpredictable weather land of frenzied forecasts...

So, it didn't surprise me that the exact time of their photo session, weather dot com was predicting high winds and potential rain!

OF COURSE that was the situation...it's Ohio friends...I've just come to expect it...

AND...

they only had ONE chance at a photo session with me, and THIS was it...

This brings me to one of the luxuries of this "job"... (hang in there with me for a second)

------

I'd actually like to take a brief moment to thank ALL of my beautiful, flexible, patient, loyal, thoughtful, encouraging, quality-seeking clients...

to those that not only value the documentation of life in pictures...but, also respect the process, the commitment, the talent, the investment, the time...

I have a BA in Education and taught for a handful of years before I had my daughters. In the time I stayed home, I used that education to research, learn, and practice the craft of photography...I invested not only countless hours of time, but also money on updating software, cameras, lenses...

all in the name of not only producing images that "tell a story" with a quality & sharpness...but, of creating an EXPERIENCE that would be memorable, long-lasting and FUN...

------

I say all this because it nearly brings me to tears to discover that this beautiful family waited to have a session with ME...they traveled to a different state...waited for my availability and grabbed the only spot that would work for their busy family...

I'm humbled...grateful...and emboldened!

And because of the gracious, loyal families that I have year after year, it affords me the opportunity to be as flexible as possible in this "job"...and still not miss the important things with my own family...

and soooooo,

when weather called for CRAZY...

we looked for the silver lining and found a pocket of opportunity...and we just slipped right in and made a memory!

There is something incredible and almost a "sameness" in the types of families that I get to serve...I once heard a quote...

"Your vibe attracts your tribe!"

I think it goes a step further with my "photography job"...I believe that the clients I service, the stories I have the opportunity to tell through pictures, are displayed...and "likeminded" people are attracted to it...

And so, I tell STORIES of families like this one...

Where LOVE is at the center...
where mistakes are learning opportunities and successes are championed...
where TIME together is the goal, NOT just a perfect set of pearly whites...
where relationships are not taken for granted, but cherished...
where there is a JOY in the journey, in the chapters of the life they are living...

Needless to say, we GOT our session in...
Oh the winds came and it was an awful mess that afternoon/evening...
but our goal of capturing a moment, of creating a memory, of telling their story was achieved!

I am a very fortunate girl...I meet the most amazing people, with a VIBE of hope and happy...and they become my most fantastic TRIBE!
