FAMILY SESSION: It's TOTALLY NOT raining...or dark...or cloudy...

This Fall season has definitely been one for the books...

Not only did all my time slots fill up within 2 hours each month that I posted the availability, but the temperatures and weather were amazingly unpredictable....

This adorable family, that I typically see year after year...who've been loyal to me since they discovered me years ago, ended up not getting onto my calendar for September NOR October...we were in a state of panic to be sure...

Not because I think I'm some amazing photographer, but because it makes me sooo sad to miss seeing my "peeps"!!!  And so, onto the wait list they went and I started scrambling in between rain and dropping temperatures to figure out how to get my wait list folks squeezed in...

Turns out, we don't even really need a "beautiful" day to do it either...

They met me on a cloudy, rainy, gloomy ole day, after days of rain...As a photographer you worry about light and making sure everyone is comfortable and not stomping around in mud and soggy socks...

however, I should not have worried...they were ON and ready to go...despite the drizzle...

there were tickles and squeezes, tackles and piggyback rides...kisses and snuggles and big ole HUGS!

I think what is super cool about these types of sessions, are not only the memories that are made, but sometimes the lessons that are learned...our littles watch us like hawks...they see how we respond to situations to determine how they are "supposed" to feel too..

Mom and Dad took it all in stride...there were no frowns or anxious clenching...they were along for the ride...it was a time for just the 4 of them to enjoy one another...no matter the wind, or the rain or the lack of sun...

and because of that, I could focus on the technical parts to ensure that the GENUINE happy that I was seeing, could be recorded for all the years to come...

What a legacy they are passing down to their children...to walk with grace and confidence through life, even when curve balls are thrown at you...

This family is absolutely delightful!!!
