Reminisce

I had a newborn session recently...

As I was snapping pictures of tiny toes and little bubbles on bitty lips, I realized just how quickly children change...especially when they are very young.  I can take newborn pictures and by the time I upload the gallery of images 2 weeks later, those little cheeks have filled out even more and eyes stay open longer...in a matter of a couple more weeks, you might get a smile or eyes that follow you as you sing to them...

This very fact is one of the many reasons why I have a love for photography...

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy art...I'm a right brained person and I love the creative and the "story" that can be told without words...

but, before that, I am a lover of memories...I love to be able to flip through countless photos and watch my girls "grow" before my eyes...those images take me back to that time...and I "hear" their voice and remember the emotions of the moment...

I love this family...they have had me in their home countless times...they are lovers of memories too...

I've watched their little girl develop such an energetic and playful personality...
and now their son...time is flying...and they are capturing moments to remember :)

I count them as good friends...dedicated parents and loving individuals :)

So grateful to know them...I know when you see the pictures, you'll know why :)

She said YES!

Alright, I'll be honest...I have not gotten a request like this ever before...

He wrote me a long email about all these incredible, "blow you away" plans he had in order to propose to the love of his life...and at the same time, he wanted to include and lavish more love on the 4 girls that would also be forever changed with this decision...

As I read the email, I couldn't help but smile at not only his incredible attention to detail, but his thoughtfulness in each moment that he had planned...

I was to come to his house and wait for his signal...he was sending all the girls on a scavenger hunt throughout the house...it would eventually lead them back to one room, where he would propose to Kati...

Her daughter would watch with happy tears, as her mom said, "YES"....and his daughters would wear big smiles as they watched their dad pledge his love...

However, the "moment" didn't end there...it continued with a surprised trip in a limo, dinner at the Refectory and even more surprises awaited them there...

While in the limo ride, Kati asked if they could facetime her mom when they got home...I asked her where her mom was from?  She said that she lived in Maine...such a long way away...(keep in mind that Aaron had already filled me in on all these surprises, so that I could be prepared to get the expressions that would surely transpire)

Awaiting them all at the restaurant, unbeknownst to the women in the limousine, was Kati's mom, flown in from Maine, along with Aaron's parents...He wanted everyone to be apart of this day, to share in the moment...

To say that he "pulled it off" would be a complete understatement and would minimize his incredible planning...

I hope you'll enjoy this little slideshow of the day as it unfolded :)

And the LOVE continues :)

I've written about their love story before HERE

They truly are a remarkable couple...a team, but much deeper than just a "partnership"...even in our short times together, I see how each of them sacrifices their own wants for the benefit of the other...and it goes both ways...it's very evident how they each show love to each other in just those seemingly insignificant ways...

Their youngest little guy turned 2 earlier this spring and they wanted to capture his personality and just the joy he brings to their family...

Big brother brings a lot of FUN as well! They are training these 2 boys to become strong, yet compassionate men...I sooo enjoyed my time with them!!!

Happy Birthday lil guy!!!

My Nephew is COMING SOON!!!

I remember when Rachel was born...I was almost 12 years old and my mom was up packing my lunch that morning...stopping every 5 minutes or so to sort of grab the wall and breathe in and out slowly...she was in labor, but by golly she was going to make sure that the other 3 kids were all taken care of before she went and had her baby...

She came out with dark, curly hair...if she would have been blonde, she would have been named Heather...but the dark hair deemed her Rachel...

Oh how my brother and I doted on her...photo sessions galore and "taught" her all sorts of things!
And here she is...now having a wee one all her own...

This little baby will be the "baby" of all the grandkids on our side of the family too...so you KNOW he's gonna get spoiled!!!  And we are all excited to meet him sometime in July!!!

Brian and Rachel were thrown a shower at their church recently...and whenever you get my mom on board with a "thing"...well, you know you're going to end up with everything coordinating and perfected...down to the last little details...

We weren't disappointed!!!  Mom sewed and organized and "pinterested" everything...and the ladies and friends at church helped ever so much to make this such a memorable event!!

(I had to throw in my mom's 'cheese owl' for fun!)

It all added to the excitement of the journey of pregnancy!!!
Can't wait to meet my little nephew!!
