I know that I'm probably biased, considering that she's MY child...but, goodness sakes...SHE'S CUTE!

Onto other things...thought I'd put up a little "creation" that I came up with this holiday season...

What to do with all those cards and photos that you get...
...you COULD tape them to the back of your door
...you COULD put them in a cute little basket on an end table
...you COULD throw them away after you read/look at them

OR

You could buy some cheap ribbon at Joann's, along with some tiny little clothes pins...tacky tape the ribbon to
the wall and then attach the cards as they come with the little pins...

Very tasteful...very holidayish...very inexpensive!!! YIPPEE!!!

I'm in love

Okay...so, I'm in love...

Yes...with my husband of course...

But, the image above is making the moves on my heart!  Oh my goodness!!!

I started this business (well, GOD started this business using me, actually) in October.  My goal was to be able to make enough money to purchase this little  big wonder!

My husband walked in from work a couple weeks ago and told me that I had made it to my goal...

I got all jittery...in two months???  how in the world?  GOD, that's how!

And so, yesterday, I found myself at the downtown camera store feeling like a little girl in a candy shop...only, I wasn't buying penny candy...this baby is expensive...but oh so worth it!

I'm having fun...learning the feel of this monstrosity on the end of my camera body...but, it's great...so, I get a work out to boot!!

I'll be posting more "practice pics" soon!!!
Have a great week!

Kindred Spirits

Have you ever met someone and you just KNEW that they were a kindred spirit?

Kindred Spirit?  What in the world are you talking about Colleen?

Yes, I know...it sounds like a very OLD word...but, I come from the Anne of Green Gables era...so you're just going to have to bare with me on this...

Kindred spirit...for me it feels like an old soul....like I could have known a person for years and years, and yet we may have just met...

That's what it was like with this family...I just felt like...well, they were kindred spirits!  I'm a "huggy" person by nature...but I have learned that others are not necessarily and I usually (especially professionally) don't go that route...however, when I met the Mom of this little family...there was just a "friendship bond" that just appeared!  I just don't know how else to explain it...

The point is, I had such a comfortable, relaxing, fun time with this family...and you KNOW I love photographing little girls and watching them being SISTERS...because, well...we have a house full of little princesses too...and maybe that's another bond that I felt right off the bat...

Regardless, it was a beautiful afternoon...could not have asked for better weather or better company!!

Hope you enjoy their sneak peak...(facebook page is here with more)

And the little dog too...

I love large families! I come from a family with 4 kids...I'm the oldest of the crew...my brother being 2.5 years younger than me, got stuck with me bossing him around a lot.  My 2 little sisters came a bit later...7 years and 12 years later from me!  Being a mom, I can now appreciate the level of multi-tasking MY mom had to do with regards to such age differences...she had one graduating from high school and one starting kindergarten...one learning to drive a car and the other learning to ride a bike...

When I met this family for our session this past weekend, I was reminded once again of my own growing up years...The mom and dad of this gang have done an incredible job with raising their 2 boys and 2 girls...Not only were they polite and kind to me...they actually enjoyed being around one another...it was refreshing to watch them and listen to them banter back and forth...I LOVED their little teasing and joking around!  It was sincere and fun!  It was a pleasure to be around them, even if just for a short time.

Their oldest is graduating and we thought we'd try to fit in a few senior shots as well...Hope you enjoy my few favorites here...Remember to head over to the facebook page to see some more!

I had to add this last one because they just did this themselves...walkin' back to the car...do you see what I mean about a close family?  Thanks again "S" family for allowing me the privilege of capturing you all!
