The "S" Family
The original plan was to meet at a park...
When I got there, there were cars IN REVERSE coming at me down the one way entrance way...apparantly, the band decided to show up and the entire town with them...
Fortunately, although my memory is often lacking, I recognized Andy and waved him down...plans quickly shifted and we headed over to another quaint spot to begin the photo extravaganza!!!
I remember meeting Gail as a freshman in college. I stayed at her house while I was on tour with a team from the school. Her dad made me a Fresca and Orange Juice everyday and I LOVED it! It's funny how I can see her dad's personality in the eyes of her boys...
She's a mom of boys, that's for sure...and I had a wonderful afternoon listening to them laugh and joke and play...Here are just a few images I thought I would share...there are even more over at my facebook page: CT Photo Memories
Big Brother, Mr. GQ and Lil' SISTA!!!
I had a couple of photo shoots over the weekend...I have so much fun discovering different personalities, especially in children. I've been out of the classroom for quite a few years now, but there is just something about being with kids that gets my heart all happy and it's just time to have some fun!
These 3 siblings were awesome to work with...I mean, they can't really escape it...having such "COOL" parents and all! I had the privilege of capturing Lil' Sister when she was a flower girl awhile back...but I didn't really know her older brothers very much...
And then comes Mr. Photo Man himself...never without a smile OR a pose! He has charisma and charm! LOVE HIM! He came up with so many different ideas...it was easy as pie to capture him in his element!
It's the MOST wonderful time..of the year...
NO...not THAT time of year...(although it IS right around the corner)...
For me, AUTUMN is my most favorite time of year...besides that fact that my birthday kicks off the fall season, I just love pretty much everything about it:
*you get to wear your favorite jeans again with a comfy sweatshirt
*campfire and smores
*football games
*the colors...OH, the colors
*the nice days, with cool evenings
And...THE LEAVES!!! I remember as a little girl, I made Leaf Houses with my brother. Our entire front yard became our "house"...we had little rooms and doorways...we could play for hours. So, you better believe that when I see those leave comin' down outside, I'm grabbin' my rake and my 3 girls and we're out the door ready for some fun!
This was my creation yesterday:
But OH so worth it!!!

A L'il bit excited!
Okay...so remember yesterday's post?
Yes?
Good...if not, well you can just scroll down, but I was trying to make it even easier by offering the link...because, that's just the kind of person I am...
I digress...ahem
Well! You see, those kind "folk" gave me a swap for my photo services just this time:) Oh my, oh my, oh my!
Let me back up...let's just start with some "silly facts about me"...
* I can touch my tongue to my nose...it's a talent!
* my feet and hands are ALWAYS cold.
* I've been to Australia, PEI Canada...but never to Europe and if I ever get to go..I'm heading to Italy!
* I don't carry a purse.
It's that last one that has me "oh me oh my-ing"...Ever since, well..just ever since...I just shove a big ole wallet under my armpit, stick my phone in one back pocket and keys in another...I don't wear a ton of make up and the stuff I do wear, I expect it to stay on all day!!! (it doesn't but I just pretend that it does) If my hair gets to lookin' yucky, well, I usually have some sort of hair holder on my wrist, so UP it goes...
When the girls came along, I HAD to do the diaper bag thing...I couldn't very well stick a diaper in my back pocket or wipes under my arm...and where in the world would the diaper rash stuff go? Sooo...yes, the diaper bag...
Flash forward about 8 years...my youngest isn't needing ALL the necessities that much anymore, and yet I do need to carry a few things for her, well, and of course, I still have my wallet, keys, etc etc...yeah, well, trying haulin' a two year old in one arm, while holding onto the 5 year old's hand in the parking lot and hoping that your wallet doesn't drop to the pavement...it just doesn't work well..
So, I'm in a quandry...I'm not really a purse person...I'm also not a shoe person...let's face it, I don't have that much fashion sense and THAT'S OKAY WITH ME! I'm a laissez-faire sort of "dresser". However, out of necessity, I'm finding that I need SOMETHING here...I have been known to tote library bags or to stick stuff in one of my girls backpacks and claim it as my own...
Note to self: it's time for a change!
And sooooooo...this post comes to the climax...My dear friend Amy MADE this bag for me! She let me choose the material (with much guidance on her part) and she sewed it all up "nice" and "perty" just for me!
Holiday Card Photo Shoot
It inevidably happens that I start out doing one thing and it leads to another thing and another thing and anothing thing...
It all started as a "get a good shot for our christmas card"...which turned into...well, you'll see in a just a sec!
I think the thing that struck me the very first time that I spent time with both of them together, is just how much Mike loves Amy. I don't know how else to explain it...they are fun together, they laugh, they tease, they enjoy each other's company...and then you notice how he looks at her, or just his tone of voice in how he responds to her...it just makes you feel all happy inside to be around them.
Christmas Mini Session
It's Christmas Mini Session Time
In only a few short weeks it will be time to start sending out Christmas cards! Can you believe it? How many times have you tried to find just the right family picture to put into your card, only to discover that you don't have one?
The Christmas Mini Session is the perfect solution for that problem! We'll be meeting at Everel Barn in Westerville for our first round of sessions. Anne Marie Weakley, a wonderful Columbus area photographer, will be joining me. Mini Sessions are the perfect length to get an awesome family picture, individual shots of family members and whatever else we have time for...and with TWO photographers shooting from multiple angles, we're sure to get quite a few images!
If you've never had a session with me before...here are just a few things to know: I love capturing who you are, how you interact, how much fun you have together, how much you love each other...We will do a few posed photographs, and I'll lightly pose or "guide" you as you interact - my goal is to showcase WHO you all are...the pouts, the giggles, the bribing your 2 year old with a sucker, group hugs, and all the things that make your family just WHO you all are! I want you to have FUN and I want others to look at your images and say, "Oh that is sooooooooooo you!"
Time Slots Available: ***Please leave a comment or email me if you'd like to take advantage of this mini-session but the day/time doesn't work for you...We are willing to look into setting up an additional session date.

Polka Dot Socks and Miss Cartwheels
Can I just say that I was giddy? I mean, just plain G. I. double D Y....giddy for this photo shoot. I didn't know the girls really well, but I had seen them from afar and I LOVE their personalities. Being a mom to all girls myself, I thoroughly enjoy watching how sisters interact, how they are different, how they are alike...I was not disappointed with the showing of these lovely ladies!!!
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
Okay..it's not REALLY...actually, it's beginning to look and FEEL like FALL! Those beautiful leaves are starting to come down in the colors that just make me feel all happy inside!
But it IS time to be thinking about Christmas cards...It's fun to connect with loved ones and let them see some creative pics of you and your family!
I offer a "different" type of Christmas card in that, I give you the file...you can send it via email to all your relatives to save on stamp money OR you can go and print as many as you want for 14 cents a piece at Costco:) I only charge a design fee and then I give you your image file!
I'd also love to capture the pictures that you'd use on your cards as well...we've got some beautiful days ahead...please feel free to contact me via email at ctphotomemories@aol.com and we can chat about a session and/or holiday card that would best fit your personality!
An Apple a Day...
We went to the Apple Orchard recently. I must tell you that it's quite the feat to carry a 2 year old on your hip, hold open a bag for a 7 year old to PLEASE place GENTLY into, watch your 5 year old fall out of a tree and all the while snap a million pictures to capture the day...
I will insert here that although I am addicted to my camera, I am learning to PUT IT DOWN so that I can ENJOY the event sometimes...I am sorry to report that I did NOT learn it at this point...thus, my 5 year old has a scrape across her little belly from the branch that got her on the way down...
Anyway, in the midst of it all, I did get some cute pics of them and thought I'd share!
Look What They Did!!!
Okay, I'm just completely thrilled with this! My beautiful friend, who allowed me to take pictures of her family, did THIS with all the photos...
I think it looks GREAT!!! Awesome job there friend! Read more...
