SENIOR SESSION: Maddie CO2020

She's a doll! 

I think I just love ALL THESE SENIORS because they feel like my OWN! 

Maddie's been playing tennis with my oldest for years...and so with that history, comes comradery and friendship and loyalty!

Maddie also happens to be a book lover like myself...a person who understands the power of the written word and relishes every moment that is available, to spend with those stories and characters...it's like discovering an new friend, or escaping to an adventure, or basking in a world of imagination...this is the power of books! 

And so...it was quite fitting to spend a bit of time during her session to showcase her loves...her passions...her talents...

She's uniquely confident and determined...I love her spunk and perseverance...

And while I'm excited for all that is ahead for her, I will miss the random tennis cheering...the excited talks over main characters and book titles...

Maddie, you are going to make a huge impact on those with whom you come in contact...you have the drive and the tenacity to accomplish anything you set your mind on...

Congrats on an amazing Senior year!  I'm cheering you on!!!

FAMILY SESSION: friends for life

It was by happenstance that we met...and I'm ever-so-glad that we did!

They are building comradery within the sibling relationships, they demonstrate love through words and actions...and everyone is free to BE who they were meant to be...

Never underestimate the JOY that comes from contentment...the ability to see the good and the love in the imperfections...

it's what makes home the SAFE place to be...where the highest expectations are to love and accept and forgive...

I love this family for all that they are building in each other!!

FAMILY SESSION: We meet again...

Last week was my last Fall 2019 sign up for this season...

I've been taking Family and Senior photos officially since about 2011...

that's a lot of years to meet lots of families...

to watch little ones grow up...

I've had a couple handfuls of families that have been with me since the beginning and others that I've been privileged to meet along the way...

we live in an area inundated with amazing photographers...you have your pick!!!  

So, I don't take it for granted when people choose ME!

My heart always starts to race before a sign up because I'm wondering WHO will be able to snag a spot...who will I see again...who will I meet for the first time...

And I have a handful of families that want to ensure they get on my calendar, so they start the process early...sometimes back in the spring/early summer, sometimes August and they keep going until they snag a good spot that works with their calendar! 

I was happy to see this family on my line up for September! They are down to earth and relaxed...they make my job easy and FUN...

They are ones that I had the privilege to meet just a couple years ago...and inevitably the weather likes to play tricks on them...it's either freezing cold when it's supposed to be warm, or incredibly HOT when it's supposed to be cool...

and they just roll with it...

That's what I love about the clients that come to me...I know that they value the same things I do...of course we want amazing pictures...but they're in it for the memory, the relationship, the STORY that is captured so that they can have moments to remember for all the years to come...

so, whether it's swinging the littles high in the air, or choking big brother while hanging on for dear life... or throwing rocks into the creek...

it's about the TIME TOGETHER that matters the most!!

SENIOR SESSION: Rachel CO2020

She just made me smile...

It was the end of the week, things were piling up, hubby was traveling, tennis matches nearly everyday...and while I was so thankful for the outlet of just capturing the PRETTY...I can't tell you what it means to meet someone who is able to disarm you...to allow you to just BE...who makes you feel incredible just for breathing!!!

RACHEL IS THAT PERSON!!!

She's sweet-natured and loving and kind and thoughtful and silly and happy and content...

and she finds her JOY in a place that surpasses all the material and fluff...

Oh my, she's just lovely...what else can I say...

I was humbled and grateful to spend just a couple hours with this gal that made ME feel like a million bucks!!!
