SENIOR SESSION: Dana CO2019

Have you ever spent time with someone and after you've left you just feel better...there's a little spring in your step...a little pep in your walk?  

It's because that particular person left you feeling better about yourself than you did when you first met up...

That's how it was with Dana...her focus wasn't on herself...she was all about smiles and hugs...and so was her mom...

She was just excited to have a morning to hang out with her mama and get some fun pictures...we squealed and delighted over everything...she was thoughtful and had input about the images we captured, but it didn't feel like a "job" persay...

we were just out enjoying whatever we found...a flowerbed of black eyed susans...and unexpected red door...and plain wall where she could shimmy close to mom for a quick pic...

But you see...that's Dana's personality...it's her essence...she's bright and beautiful...vibrant and happy...her smile is contagious and her laugh is genuine...

Dana you are simply marvelous...I had a most WONDERFUL time with you both!

Congratulations on an amazing Senior Year...you are going to do GREAT things!!!

SENIOR SESSION: Grace B CO2019

Grace sets high expectations for herself...

she has GOALS and she takes whatever steps are necessary to reach them...

She has tenacity and drive...determination and grit...and at the same time, she's just a natural...a girl next door personality that would rather curl up with a good book in baggy sweatpants and a tee-shirt than sport heels for a runway...

When she sets her mind on something, she gives it her all...her whole heart...

her future is filled with possibilities...and though sometimes when so many choices are afforded, it can be overwhelming, Grace handles it with...well...GRACE...

It makes sense that she would carry herself as such...like her name states...

She is genuine and "what you see if what you get" REAL...and it's that vulnerability and grace that will allow her to enjoy her journey no matter what may come...

Congratulations girlie...what a pleasure spending time with you!!!

SENIOR SESSION :Emma CO2019

Emma is the youngest of 3 sisters...

all of them raised to be strong women...

with parents that encourage, support, motivate, inspire, and LOVE...

I notice this because I also have 3 daughters...and so when I meet families that are of similar make-up...I take note...

I watch their interactions, the way they speak of each other, their uniqueness and their similarities...

I photographed one of Emma's sisters during her Senior year and I was humbled and honored to be asked to take Emma's as well...

It was fun to see the commonalities between Emma and my own baby girl...

to watch with admiration and hopeful dreams of what my own future will one day look like...

Emma is uncomplicated...she doesn't pretend to be something that she's not...like everyone else, she has her own fears and dreams...she's thoughtful and cautious...but, at the same time, I have a feeling that she'd be the first to jump on an adventure!

We had a great morning...Emma, her mom and I...and I went away feeling more blessed having spent time with them, than having done a service for them...

Emma comes from a home that values relationship...she's close with her sisters, her parents and her friends...

and because their love tanks get filled, they freely give out to others...

and they did so with me...

This time of year, I find it more challenging to recharge...I'm someone that lays it all out on the table for every session...I give all that I have: energy, humor, creativity, intuition...I strive to do my best...

back to back sessions, consistent editing, and just everyday life gets heavier as the days go by...

and yet, I left Emma feeling refreshed, valued...treasured even...

Emma and her mom have discovered a secret way of leaving others better than when they met them...

I want to be like that!!!

Congratulations Emma, I have no doubt in my mind that GREAT PLANS are in store for you...and the people you encounter will be beyond blessed by just being in your presence!

SENIOR SESSION: Grace CO2019

We kept chasing the sunshine...

it would periodically shine through brilliantly and we'd squeal with delight...

But really, there was no need to chase the sunshine when we had Grace's smile with us...

Her smile goes straight to her eyes...it lights up her whole being and sometimes bubbles out in a laugh...

Grace creates her own sunshine around her very being...you can't help but feel her happiness...it's almost palpable...

She's athletic and gregarious...full of smiles with a hint of introspective thought...

It's amazing to me how these Seniors SHINE...they are READY...

they may not "feel" completely ready, but they aren't backing down from the challenge...

Grace is one that sets her sights on something and goes after it with all she's got...she doesn't let fear of failure or indecision stop her from putting one foot in front of the other...

Congratulations Grace on a fabulous Senior year!!!
