FAMILY SESSION: Boys to Men

I think I met them originally at a Fish Fry?  

I don't even remember, but somehow we ended up keeping in touch...

Amy and her brood of boys...

I love them because they are yet another incredible family that inspires me...

another family that invests in the time, energy, sacrifice, discipline, and love of building character & integrity into a family...

I'm not quite sure how she does it with her FOUR little guys...but each one of them shows such respect and honor to their parents and those around them...

no, I'm not saying they are perfect angels and Amy would probably roll her eyes if I even considered it...

However, I do have a hunch that much of what they instill in their boys comes from their commitment to one another...

I asked Andy to whisper something to Amy for which he was proud of her...something he appreciated about her...as a person, as a wife, as a mom...anything...

He stood there silent for a minute, just staring at her...

and then he said, "Do you have all day?"

I know...you just want to melt after hearing that...I did too...how could you not?

It's plain to see that he cherishes his wife...and in turn, that knowledge, and security propels Amy to ventures that she may not otherwise would have attempted...

they work as a team...committed, sacrificing, forgiving...and doing the day to day...

And their boys are WATCHING...they pick up on more than we even realize...

it's not for the faint hearted, these things called marriage and parenting...

but, I can attest, and I'm sure Andy & Amy would too, that even in the hard, even in the exhausted, even in the "what in the world have we gotten ourselves into"...when you're in it with your best friend...the journey is OH so worth it!
