FAMILY SESSION: and now the boys

It seems like I've had lots of "all girl" families here of late...so it was a bit of a game changer when I had the opportunity to meet up with this family again...

I think one of the things that I struggle with as a photographer, is wanting to make each session unique and create images that are specific to individual families...

at the same time, I know that many come to me because they've seen "specific" looks and angles and poses and what-have-you that they want for their own family...

being a "creative" there is a level of wanting to "go beyond the norm"...and so, I am in a constant challenge of balancing the new with the classic...the unique with the familiar...

there is definitely a comfort with getting a specific "shot"...

at the same time, I know, in my heart of hearts, as a mom, as a sister, as a friend...that the STORY being is told is truly the ultimate capture...those are the images that will be looked upon for years to come...those are the images that smiles & hair don't matter, but the expression and the memory remain impressed on hearts...

This momma is a sister to a dear friend of mine...
She doesn't live around here, but comes into town for short visits now and then to celebrate birthdays and sister-time...we weren't positive if our schedules were going to match up, or if the weather was going to cooperate, but the stars all aligned and this was the result!

I loved their energy, their enthusiasm, and their HUGE SMILES...they are every bit as JOYful as they appear!!!
