FAMILY SESSION: Time Out

I'm learning a bit about living in "alignment" here of late...

I'm not sure about you, but LIFE IS CRAZY BUSY...

AND...

I GET DISTRACTED...

I get distracted by seemingly EVERYTHING...

I can sit down to do actual WORK, and then my phone buzzes, or my dog barks, or I realize I'm hungry, or I think of a load of laundry that needs to go into the washing machine, and then I remember dinner...and then I wonder if I have time for a workout, shower AND answer emails...OH, and wait, I have 2 photo sessions after my daugthers' tennis match and who is going to pick up daughter #3 from play rehearsal???

Am I speaking your language???

This is my everyday...and I would try my hardest to "multi-task" only to end the day feeling like I only accomplished "half" of what I set out to do OR I just haphazardly got things done without much intention...

I know that some jobs are mindless...and in those moments I can "multi-task"

for example: listen to an informational podcast while cleaning the kitchen...I'm using different parts of my brain so I can focus AND mindlessly clean...

I'm learning to take advantage of "alignment" moments of "multi-tasking" but trying to shut out the distractions so that I have more time for the things that really matter...

I haven't achieved perfection by any means, but I'm on the road to awareness...and that's the first step...

AND SO...when I meet families that are INTENTIONAL...who not only prioritize and talk the talk, but walk the walk...

I'm in AWE...

Sports activities may have been scheduled, but this family valued the moments of their story, in this specific chapter...and they recognized that it's only "rarely" that all the stars align...and so they choose to put priority on THEIR moments, THEIR chapter, THEIR "characters" in THEIR story!!!

They sliced out just a small period of time out of these CRAZY BUSY days to BE...

to Hug, to Jump, to Squeeze, to Laugh, to Walk, to Giggle, to Tease...

And in THOSE moments, memories are created...they are imprinted upon their hearts and minds...

It's THESE times that will be remembered longer than a specific soccer game or trip to the store or even the regular activities of daily life...

because it was INTENTIONAL...and everyone took a "time out" to be with each other...the ones that matter the most...
