FAMILY SESSION: Green Gables in real life

“Wouldn't it be a rather drab world if everybody was wise and
sensible…and good? What would we find to talk about?” -

Anne of Windy Poplars

I fell in love with the Anne of Green Gable series back in 6th grade.

And I never looked back...

LM Montgomery is romantic, verbose and just all around wonderful...
She's my generation's equivalent to Jane Austen.

It was easy to slip into the world created at Prince Edward Island, Canada...to imagine "life" in that era, and what it meant to look at life through a different lens than my own reality.

"Anne" became a kindred spirit of mine...I remember thinking WWAD (What Would Anne Do?) many times throughout my middle school years...

I have read each of the 8 books in the series at least 7 times (the latest being last month!)

Because of this "infatuation" with a book character...anytime I see those characteristics in real life, I get giddy...

When I first saw this "momma" I did a double take...

Sure, I suppose it's a the red hair...but aren't all "gingers" unique and wonderful in and of themselves?

And so, unintentionally, I was drawn to her as a kindred spirit and I wasn't disappointed!

Sweetness and goodness permeate their family..but they have that little dose of "ornery" in there that makes life exciting and fun! (see Anne's quote above)

I look forward to seeing them each year!
