FAMILY SESSION: Be YOU!

Sister is a hockey player...

yes, you read that correctly...

she plays ice hockey...

Maybe that doesn't surprise you, seeing as she has two brothers...but, isn't hockey "typically" a "boy" sport???

I think what delighted me, was her absolute embracing of all things feminine...twirling, dresses, hair flipping, and just all things girlie...AND THEN...

she told me about her love of hockey and being out on the ice...

I giggled a little when she mentioned that her aunt, being a figure skater really wanted her to go that route, but she basically fell in love with the other sport instead...

and she is this unique, wonderful, little perfect balance :) 

That may seem like a small, insignificant little tidbit of information about one "character" in this family...but for me it is very telling as to their values and goals and all around AWESOMENESS!

You have this lovely family where the parents encourage EACH of their kiddos to pursue goals and dreams...even if they may seem to others as "off the beaten track"...

Each one of their children has an inner confidence...they KNOW they are loved, celebrated, cheered for and encouraged to be anything they imagine becoming!!

THIS IS A THING OF BEAUTY...

because in this family, people are seen for what they are on the INSIDE, while still embracing ALL facets of their BEING :) 

I keep pinching myself that I get to serve these families...I get to document the chapters of their STORY...I get to bask in their together time and always come away feeling encouraged, uplifted and thankful!!
