Looking for 3 words...

If you read THIS blog post from awhile ago, you'll know that I've recently been pondering a lot about my photography business...

Because, if you know me, you'll know that I'm not someone who goes half-hearted into anything...I'm more of an "all or nothing" sort of person...but, I need purpose...a mission...

When I taught elementary school, I was the teacher that was up late at night praying and worrying over my "kids"...I was the teacher that spent countless hours developing and researching so that my lessons were uber creative and fun...I was strategic and I did everything I could to meet them where they were...it's how I'm wired...

therefore, I felt it necessary to start determining a "mission statement" for my photography.  I don't work at a mall studio, nor have I instituted mini sessions where I only meet people for 15 minutes and get quick shots...I'm about investing time...and that costs me...it not only costs me time, but money as well, as I try to keep my pricing as low as possible...

So, I started collecting words that not only describe me and how I "function" during a family session...but also, words that give purpose to the images that I produce...I'd love to settle on 3...(and if you've had a session with me, or have followed me on social media and have a word that you think describes the essence of my photo sessions or if you agree with one or more of the following, I'd LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!)

here are some of the words that I've collected thus far:

storytelling
BEing
heartening/heartfelt
REAL
Enthusiastic
lifestyle

Sometimes sessions are funny and goofy...
sometimes they are deep and quiet....
all of them are meaningful and authentic...

there are definitely things that need to be 'set up' in order to "get the ball rolling" so to speak...but, it's when families relax into their "norm"...their "familiar"...that the genuine smiles and togetherness start to present itself...

and that's what I'm there to capture!

These are just a sampling of the many images in their gallery...moments that made me smile...unexpected antics that made me laugh...and the authenticity of a family that genuinely love one another...offer grace to each other...and not only see the best, but bring out the best in each member!

It was a joy to spend time with them...
