My Weekend

Personal
Fall is typically my favorite time of year...
First of all...it's my "birthday" season...and I love birthdays...I don't always remember them, (mine or others) but I DO love them...
But, I love "sweater weather"...evidenced by this little number:
However, since beginning photography, "fall" has shifted in meaning for me...
I still love the weather and the activities and boots and jeans...
but, on the flip side of all the FUN...
it gets BUSY...
My nights don't end until after midnight and I'm up around 5:30am...just trying to manage emails, post sneak peeks, edit photos, in between my morning & evening shoots for all the wonderful clients that I don't want to disappoint...
My "right-brain" sometimes has a difficult time taking care of all the "left-brain" responsibilities too...
and so, I know it means that I need just a couple hours of down time per week...time that I can just bask in my family and do "normal" things...and believe it or not, it means leaving my camera at home...
This weekend, we played hooky from church and headed out to pick our pumpkins...
(pictures are courtesy of my iphone...thank you very much :)
we're in the middle of potentially planning a family vacation this winter and so we opted out of the "big shindig" for fall, and just enjoyed a small hayride and silly pictures for our "harvest day"
When we got back home we started on our pumpkins...my youngest 2 being major Harry Potter fans like their Momma got all set to make some "magic" happen!
by the time we finished, it was time for me to head out for 2 more evening sessions before the lifegroup kids arrived at our home....
My girls are growing up so fast (I know it's cliche') and though the independence learned from Momma working at this season of life is good for them & me, I'm purposefully making time for special moments without distractions too...
