Celebrities on the Loose

So, I had a couple photo sessions this past weekend.  One of them was with Amy Brenneman...no foolin'...you remember Judging Amy?  or maybe Private Practice?  Yep...

Okay...I'm just pullin' at straws here..but seriously, the mom of this little clan was a dead ringer for her...see what I mean?

Now, I've never met THE Amy Brenneman, but if she's anything, even an inkling like this lovely woman, then I would be privileged to know her.

I really wanted to call this post:  NO FROLICKING ALLOWED!!!  This family is friend's with another family that I had photographed awhile back...and something about frolicking in leaves...not being a manly thing...hmmmm...something along those lines:)  Kudos to Dad for at least swinging from the trees!

I was so happy that they were up for some out of the ordinary photos...I think it paid off!  Here are just a few of my favorites from our time together!

Her blue eyes are amazing!

You know me and feet!  But you've GOT to love these shoes!

Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to catch some snapshots of your family!  I had a blast!

Celebrating Family

In the fall, everything starts back up...schedules, school, sports...it feels like everyone gets just a little bit older...and time slips through your fingers...

Recently, a verse was called to my attention:  Psalms 90:12 "Teach us to number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom"

Basically, in my own translation or summary of meaning, it says, "Teach us the brevity of life, how few days we have and let us live them to the fullest, let us capture the moments, let us celebrate what we have been given that we may live as we should."

For me, that specifically means celebrating my family...

As we start to close out the month of September, we have the holidays already upon us...performances will be held, turkeys will be cooked, presents will be wrapped, and lot of commotion will take place amidst the togetherness...

I took some time out the other day to just "number my days" with my girls...I don't want to forget how they looked as an 8, 6 and 3 year old...I don't want to forget how they laughed or jumped or this case, rode their scooters:

I will be posting a schedule soon for Fall Sessions...the last weekend in September through Nov. 13th.  Don't miss out on an opportunity to celebrate your family, to capture the memories...to "number your days"...

On a final note:  check out this link/video that I found last year and it still inspires me to this day.  I am currently trying to incorporate the shadow boxes and ways to photojournal my loved ones...

Check back by the end of this week to see a schedule and to make an appointment!

Mike & Leslie

Mike and I played phone tag and email tag for a good while before we finally were able to chat live.  He's the type of person that likes to come up with creative activities...fun things to do on a nice day...

Our photo session was no exception.  Leslie had a birthday, and he thought photos would be the perfect present. I couldn't agree more!  He and Leslie have had lots of "unique" outings together...from lake houses to campfires...this day's photo session to a ZIP line in October!!

Because there are so many facets to their relationship, we thought that multiple settings would suit them well.  We talked and laughed and had a great time uptown...

For some, getting used to the camera takes some time...I think Leslie took to it just FINE!  And I had a little fun running some actions on these photos, just to try some different looks...

I love that this is in front of a candy store...how delicious!

Again...RAWR Leslie!

I'll leave you with this last one...cuz, I think it's just sweet!
