Big Brother Soon....

Little girls...
I've been photographing this family for a couple years now...I've watched little chubby cheeks turn into sweet dimples...long baby ringlets cut shorter to bring forth a Kindergarten girl...
it's amazing to me how quickly children change in just these first few years...not just clothing and shoe size either...personalities really start to come out...likes & dislikes...and best of all, relationships and conversations are formed....
I guess that's just another perk of being a parent!
This sweet family added girlie number 3 this past fall and already the bonds are forming between these sisters!
I traveled to their home this time to get some pictures...to see them in their element:) Their house is tucked back into a small wooded area, with sweet nooks and oversized logs to climb on...and nestled back there is their swingset, where countless hours are spent pretending and playing...
it's what childhood is all about :)
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them...as I always do:) I hope these pictures will bring a smile to your face as well!

to read about the wedding Annemarie and I were able to photograph last weekend!!!
I met this sweet family a few years back...
During that session, their eldest son wasn't necessarily "into" the whole picture thing...and though he definitely hung in there with me, he was likely more than thrilled when he saw my camera hanging by side, rather than up by my face...
His baby brother was full of energy and doing what every "baby of the family" does...(I have first hand knowledge of this seeing as my husband is the baby in his family!)
Anyway...fast forward a few years, and their daughter has grown into a young woman...a celebration was at hand, and both sets of grandparents came in...
I wondered what the "boys" would be like this time around...but, knowing the mom of this family, I wasn't surprised to see that her eldest had grown into a young man, already taking on responsibilities and setting an example for his siblings...you can tell that they look up to him (in a literal sense as well, seeing as he is over 6 feet tall)
The youngest member of the family has pure admiration of his older brother and it was fun to capture their relationships on 'film'...
I have ALWAYS wanted a big brother.
I have a younger brother, and two younger sisters, and one sis about my same age...whom I love dearly...
But, I always thought it would be so cool to have that older brother figure looking out for me...the one that would beat up the kids that ever made fun of me or be the one that I could always look up to...
My younger brother became those things to me eventually...but it took high school to grow him up (literally...he had to grow a few inches because I was STILL taller than him) But, while we were younger, I was the older sibling...and I hate to say it, but I wasn't necessarily the nicest to him...I was much more mothering and sweet to my younger sisters who were 7 and 12 years younger...
Though it's sometimes easier to have all those kiddos close together in age...I think that age separation can be a good thing too...
This sweet boy is soon to be a big brother...and after spending time with him, I have no doubt that he will be spectacular...
He's funny, and adventurous (all boy!)...but he loves his Momma and believes his Dad is his hero...He knows, as much as his sweet little mind can know, that his life is going to change here in a few weeks...but, he steps up to the challenge...
and I'm so excited for them all!!!
We had a beautiful afternoon together...we focused mostly on family and together shots, but we threw a few maternity in there for good measure:)
This Momma is glowing and beautiful...I hope you enjoy!
