InHome Lifestyle: New Baby Sister

Everytime a new little one is welcomed into a home, the dynamics change...what used to be "normal" for a former family of three, is now a thing of the past...

and for big siblings, it is sometimes a bit of a transition...

Therefore, when I am so graciously welcomed into a home, I make sure to take time with Big Brother or Sister to make sure they know that I'm there for them too!

This big sis wanted to show me her special room and how she shares her special bunny rabbit too.

Each of these images tells a story to me...

I suppose it's how I'm wired to "see" things now...being a photographer...or perhaps I've always been like that...

I've mentioned a few times on other social media platforms just how the ancestry search has had my heart racing with excitement and at the same time nostalgic and grateful...

In a lifestyle photo shoot...the story isn't just the characters...it's about the details and setting..."what life is like"...it shows the relationship narratives and "how life is lived"...

I know that may seem silly to think about here in 2018...but, when I'm finding images from 1913...It's as if my mind does that movie trick with the wavy/blurry lines and travels through time/space...and I'm like Ebeneezer Scrooge looking into the past, as a bystander...unseen...

One day it will be like that...oh sure, it will be 10s of 100s of years down the road...but these moments will not go unnoticed or unappreciated...

these are legacies being passed down through the generations...

these little hands & feet are noticed...

their names are written down...

and there is purpose!

What a gift!
