FAMILY SESSION: Life is Good

The past couple days have been some rather challenging "parenting" days for my husband and me.
Those times where you can't refer to a specific "rule book" and look up the answer to the quadratic equation of 2x(something wrong)+xyzqriekdthkv = infinity I don't have a clue

We aren't perfect parents and our daughters aren't perfect either.  I'm going to assume that noone on earth fits this category and therefore, I'm not as alone as I sometimes feel in this sea of "how bad am I going to mess them up" and "how much counseling should I save for?"

Needless to say, with today being the last day of school here in our Ohio school district, it's been a hectic, frantic, exam filled, drama escalated, messy room, no laundry done, cereal for dinner sort of week...

and it's only Wednesday!

However...

If I can force myself out of the pity party and the frustration and the "I'm never going to do this right" attitude...I start to realize that Life is Good.

It really is...

I don't really have to have it all figured out...and neither do my girls...

Lots of grace needs to be given...to my girls and myself included...

We must handle consequences with responsibility, but have enough gumption to continue putting one foot in front of the other too...

I met this family a couple Saturdays ago and the thing that struck me the most were the constant smiles on the faces of EVERYONE!

let's face it, if it's been awhile or you aren't familiar with how I typically do things, you can come to a photo session with trepidation and anxiousness, because you want things to run "just so" and you want your children to put their best feet forward...

and yet...

This family, if they worried about it, it didn't show...

They were carefree and laughter-filled...

It's like they tapped into this little well of "life is good and we're going to enjoy these moments together in the NOW"

Because of that, we were able to showcase each of their sons in a unique way...we were able to create images that are specific to their family...no reproductions or cookie cutter shots...

just them...hugging, laughing, squeezing, and sharin' a smooch or two!

I'm excited to get this gallery finished and delivered soon!
