FAMILY SESSION: Good Connections

I loved my college experience.

I know many think the priority is to get the best education at the cheapest price...and while I do agree to a point, for me, the definition of "education" is a tad different.

This you may think odd coming from a former educator...but, we have a saying in our home...
"Don't let school get in the way of a good education"

"Education" as per MY definition, encompasses a lot more than reading, writing and arithimetic...

College was the place where I found the path I was supposed to be on...
It was the place where I learned the beginnings of confidence and vulnerability...independence and making decisions that truly matter...

Sure, I wanted my degree...but, not just that...

I didn't care about the university name or all the honors it could give me...

when it came down to it, I knew that I would give my absolute all when it came to obtaining a job one day...I would learn the art of "selling" and make sure that my interviews and resume would rise to the top in the positions that I aspired...

I looked at college at more than just a degree...

it was the place where "rendering" would truly begin...

I know I sound nostalgic and doe-eyed when thinking of my college experience, but, for me, it was the turning point...the time at which I began to experience life to the fullest and began concreting in my heart the values that I would stand for...

It was there that I met these two...

Friends with heart connections that go beyond the everyday acquaintance etiquette...

I love that about my years in school...the people that I met, there is forever that bond and I am so very grateful!

I am giddy when I get a note from her in my inbox and I love when I get to meet up with them for family pictures!  It's fun to see families grow and lives expand...
