Siblings

Brothers and sisters have a unique dynamic.
I was a horrible big sister...infact, my brother nicknamed me "Mean Ween" (he was only about 2 and he already worked "Colleen" into something else that better suited my nature at the time)

I'm sure it started out well...me playing "mother" to my baby brother...which turned into me bossing my brother...which turned into him teasing and me fighting back and on and on and on it went...

Don't worry folks, we are best of friends now...so much so that my husband jokes about the fact that my brother and I talk on the phone just about every other day...

We've come a longggg way...

I think there is something about brothers where they really are compelled to be protectors...and at the same time, they can be at a loss as to what that actually looks like when dealing with all the different sibling dynamics...

I worked hard to get this young man to give me a smile...
his sister had no problem coaxing one out of him though...

I loved the surroundings of this day...I'm so longing for that warmer weather, where colors are vibrant and the sun brightens up everything...

I loved the silliness of the Dad of this gang...with all that color and sun, came lots of muddy areas and slippery rocks...the smiles you see are genuine and come after tromping through some rough terrain...complete with swooping up daughter and carrying her across so that her ballet flats didn't get ruined!

Here are just a few snapshots of our time together...
