FAMILY SESSION: Ginger Crew

You know the whole "six degrees of separation of Kevin Bacon"?

I'm convinced that we all have some sort of connection within our circles...

and to be honest, it's comforting and secure...

My "core" is motivated by security and belonging...when I feel that, when I connect with people, my whole being tends to relax and then I'm ALL IN!

And within seconds, I feel as though I'm with family...

Sherri and I have no blood or family ties...but, we journeyed alongside each other in college and then again as counselors at camp...

we don't look alike or even have the same temperament or personality...and yet, when I have the privilege of seeing her once every 1-2 years, I feel as though I'm hugging a long, lost sister of my heart...

We not only know each other, but we have all kinds of degrees of separations between friends and cousins and "you know this person too?"...and immediately there is a sense of belonging...

We all are motivated by different things, and since I tend to be relational in my emotional make up, relationships are paramount.

Although I'm fascinated by my recent research into Ancestry DNA...and while I am hyped up with anticipation as I look for clues and documents...

I am equally joyful when I meet up with friends that have that commonality with people.

I wouldn't necessarily characterize Sherri as a "fiery" redhead, as most might envision, but she's got a fierceness about her...I think that's found in her loyalty and her commitment to her friends and family.

She's got a whole family of "ginger" going on now...and I have no doubt she'll be passing on that legacy of love and fun to her littles...
