They have a tradition each time I come to take pictures of this whole crew...
they race Grandpa...
Together, all of them are creating a legacy...not just traditions, but character, ideals, relationships...these things will be passed down through the generations...they are foundational to who they are and who they will become...
I love their wit and humor, but most of all, how they just accept me as part of their family for the small hours that I'm with them...I'm accepted in...laughed with (and sometimes at :) and hugged...
You don't get to "choose" your family...and because of that, it takes commitment and effort...and there is more evidence that love becomes a beautiful choice...the beauty is that it's forever...that each of them has chosen to be there...to stand up for...to walk alongside...
What a gift!
