FAMILY SESSION: Getting more than you expected...

family sessions
I began CT PhotoMemories as a creative outlet...a way to give in to my extroverted self, express my creative drive and eventually be able to contribute to my own family's financial needs...
It didn't necessarily come out of a personal drive to be an entrepreneur or a challenge...but rather to serve...to love on people...
it has grown...
I didn't expect this...and that's okay...
because, ultimately it's not about the "job" but about the relationships...it's about giving more than you get because that's what we're all called to do...
Relationships...(and goodness, just LIFE in general) are messy...
there isn't "perfection", but there CAN be JOY and BEAUTIFUL in the mess!
I walk into a session ready to give it my all...I know well enough that I can't expect myself to be perfect, but I still pull from all my energy sources to attempt to make it the best experience possible...in those short moments...
if I can make just one person smile, if I can be a tiny part of creating some "happy", of letting someone know that they are important JUST THE WAY THEY ARE...then I've done what I set out to do (well, that, and hopefully get some lovely pictures as well :)
What I didn't expect was what I would receive in return...
-----------
I met this family because they heard of me from a friend...
it's a daunting thing to invest in an "unknown"...
"what if we don't like the pictures?"
"what if the kids don't behave?"
"what if it rains?"
"what if....what if...what if?"
I understand this and that's why I put everything I've got into sessions...because I DON'T take your time for granted...
and yet...
back to this family...
they came into an unknown...BUT they came ready to GIVE as well...
I was in awe...and incredibly humbled...
yes, this was an investment, but they didn't let on AT ALL that that was even a concern or any cause of anxiety...rather they BLESSED ME over and over ...
with their words of encouragement, with their joy interacting with each other...with their contentment in their season of life, no matter what that meant...
a little bit of a runny nose, maybe a few grumpies here or there...no matter...the LOVE still abounded...and they weren't shaken...
If we could all aspire to live like this on a daily basis...
to be able to ebb and flow and enjoy the journey, no matter what the circumstances actually bring...
The families and Seniors I have met this year have astounded me...I am so thankful for these incredible opportunities...
Thank you!!!
