女儿

Their oldest is learning to speak Mandarin...
(and I really hope my google translation made the title say DAUGHTER in Mandarin...I'll have to check that with their daughter when I see them again tomorrow!)

not because it's "fun" or just "something to do"...

they actually LIVE in the country where THAT IS THE LANGUAGE of the land...

They are only here in the states for a short while...

they live far from family and friends...from the "norm" of the American life...but they cherish the opportunities to comes "home" and spend time with those that they can't be with on a regular basis...

And there isn't a hint of sadness or pity coming from them...they embrace it as a welcome challenge and soak up their time here...

I met them last year when the sweet matriarch was pregnant with TWINS!  She was heading back overseas to deliver those babies and continue on in a country that wasn't her first home...and she did it like a pro!

I was thrilled to hear from her again...I believe she can do ANYTHING she sets her mind to and she is instilling that into the hearts of her daughters as well.

Their daddy is able to spend a few weeks with them in the states but he has to travel a lot as well...however,  he doesn't let that get him down or SLOW him down from showering his girls (sweet wife included) with LOTS of love.

I'm sure you'll enjoy their expressions and unique differences through these few snapshots of our time together...
