FULL FAMILY SESSION: A Reunion sort of week

family sessions
I met Steve at Cedarville College (It's now a university, so let's not think about how old I am).
I don't really remember how or when I met him...
I just know that by Senior year, I was a part of the "pips" to his "Gladys Knight" during Chapel worship time...picture "doo-op" girls in the background whilst he led the audience in verse...
He also happened to be best friends with my brother-friend, Jack.
My photo albums are filled with pictures of the antics of Steve & Jack and their dorm unit that somehow got paired with mine at one time or another...
As does so often happen in college, friends morph into family...
And so, it doesn't surprise me...the sarcastic teasing and hilarity of meeting up with his family every so often!
Now, my objective is not to get sappy or wax poetic...
however, when I say that friends morph into family...I truly feel that way...
Perhaps it's the living day in and day out with people...or I could just be naive and think too much about things...but, these friends that walked the years of college with me...they saw the raw part of my growing when my sister died...when I anguished over an unknown new normal and trying to find direction...
we were only in our late teens/early twenties and when one of us had our world rocked...those that watched from the outside became lifesavers...
And so...when I had the opportunity to meet Steve's parents...the ones that bestowed his satirical banter and hilarious shenanigans upon him, I jumped at the chance...
Steve & Christy are ALL.ABOUT.FAMILY.
If there is an opportunity to spend time with cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles...they will move heaven and earth to make it happen...
this is what I mean about family...
there is a loyalty, an acceptance and an unconditional love that propels all your choices...
It is evident that a legacy is continually being passed down, even to the youngest generations...
honor, happy, togetherness, acceptance...and nice size portion of humor :)
Jack even popped in for the visit, as it was a week of reunion, graduation, and celebration!!!
I love them all and I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with them...
