Snap-shop March Success

I woke up Saturday morning completely psyched for the day!  I think I ran on pure adreneline from the moment I awoke to the second I passed out in bed around 10:30 that night:)

I LOVE savoring the moments...and when I encounter other people who have that same passion...I am...well, I'm just giddy!  Photography is just ONE tool...one tool used in order to capture time and be able to savor and remember a bit more...it doesn't have to be daunting or overwhelming...and I was excited to help other people (moms in particular) get over the "looming metal piece of equipment" and begin to be empowered...to learn the basics so that, IN the moment, they can not only learn to capture it, but they can ENJOY and SAVOR at the same time...

it takes some teaching, some learning, some practicing and then just getting out there and doing it...

My darling husband spent the few morning hours just getting everything ready for me...and when I started setting up, I couldn't help but snap a few pictures for me to "savor" later!

My girls were begging me to save them some treats...

Once everyone arrived and we had a little time to get to know one another...I was able to quickly share my "purpose" and then dive into the photography session...

The ladies had notes and a slideshow to watch and crazy ME to lead them through it...

good grief...

My "peep" aka BFF, AnneMarie helped me out tremendously with her Canon background and her quick shots of me in action...I'm not sure whether to thank her...

Or strangle her?...what in the world am I doing?  did I always look this scary?

let's just change subject...say...bellybuttons???  (total inside Snap-shop joke folks...sorry)

I was so proud of all the participants...I loved their questions, their enthusiasm, their ability to hang in there with me through all the information and processing!!!

We had the opportunity to get outside a little bit...I won't lie...it WAS a challenge with the rain..but what better place to practice, when you have your most difficult lighting challenges, than in a class situation with people that can help you through it...when the sun starts peepin' out this spring, the "light" literally will go on...and I KNOW these ladies are going to knock out some incredible images of their kiddos and moments that they will cherish!!!
At each segment, we had alittle fun with sorting through and getting to choose camera straps...everyone, always so gracious with my sewing skills!!
We were able to spend time talking through ideas and walking around looking at other ways to not only display but treasure all the images that they will soon have storing up space on their hard drives...

We touched on some basic editing tools in photoshop...I've already got a class presentation in the works for this spring/summer with regards to photoshop...things like clipping masks and scrapbooking...switching heads (OH MY) and fixing blemishes...finding templates and making images into art!

At the end of the class...everyone received not only all the notes, in detail of what we covered, along with their camera strap of course, but they also received my E-book on CD to print out in 4 x 6 pages to have as a quick-guide reference...here are just a few of the 20 page booklet...it runs through all the basics in using an SLR camera (reminders from the Snap-shop) and a few pages on photoshop elements and how to enhance your photos just a bit more:) I've included photo recipes and outdoor/indoor situations to help trigger ways to start figuring out your own camera settings...
All in all it was a GREAT day.  I had such fun with everyone and was beyond honored to have them in my home...Thank you for hearing my heart and for giving me your afternoon...I am looking forward to watching your images come to life...and I'd love to hear how you are learning to savor your moments!!!

Stay tuned...as I will be scheduling another Snap-shop session in the late spring/early summer...
