FAMILY SESSION: Seeing HOPE

I still have one daughter in elementary school.

At the same time, it's never far from my heart and mind the thought that my older two have less than a handful of years left under our roof.

Part of me is excited about that time in our life...those "empty-nest" years...the years I dream of traveling and reading ALL.THE.BOOKS...the time I can finally have an actual "guest" room...when I don't have to purchase goldfish crackers or fruit snacks...

and then I think..."I'm going to miss it too..."  You can't go years and years of life being one way and then "poof", feel like it's the most natural thing in the world to not have EVERYONE in your house all the time...

I know the time is coming...

and so, I watch...

I inconspicuously observe how other moms do it...how they balance the emotional, with the logical...how they "parent" the adult children, while still being same ole MOM too :)

Families like these give me such excitement and HOPE!!

My "business" is typically filled with sessions for littles and Seniors...but it's a special treat to do a session with older "children"...

Ones that love their momma so much, that they will run from work and school...even on an ever looming rainy day to do a photo session...

"Children" that still tease and laugh and have "cooties"...and yet, it's still incredibly evident the respect and care they have for one another...

It was a pleasure and joy to meet up with them!!!
