FAMILY SESSION: Outgrowing Apples

When families trust me over the years to capture their stories...I am not only humbled but, I suppose it's the mom in me that loves to see the changes...

This family first found me when the twins were super little...and "apples" were the treat-bribe at the end of their session...it became a tradition of sorts each fall that I met up with them...

They'd even bring me a sweet honeycrisp to share...

and before I knew it...they grew up...right before my eyes...

treat-bribes weren't really needed at any of our times together because these  kind-hearted siblings always made my "job" easy-peasy...

however, as time marches on, we start to "outgrow the apples"...

it's a bittersweet recognition...

As parents we all aspire to that time when our children become more self-confident & aware...their personalities and assurances are strong...

at the same time, that joy is tinged with a little sadness as we realize that we aren't "needed" in the same ways any longer...

I've watched these sweet ones grow, mature and come into their own...I get to be part of the "story" of their childhood! It's an honor and privilege...I'm so, so thankful!
