SENIOR SESSION: Brynna

It's February...2017...

If you read my post from the other day, you know that we recently located some old family videos...when my baby girl was only 2 years old...

Time doesn't wait for anyone...it just sort of marches on...

If you are a parent, or if you've met a toddler once in your life, you know that they are sweet little bundles... they all have this cute baby talk and chubby fingers...their eyes are big & round, taking in their surroundings...they are trusting and perhaps sometimes willful...they make us laugh and we often will do anything to get them to smile...

and though they all have this curiosity and baby chub in common, you know that they are going to grow and develop into intricately, unique individuals...

At 2 years old however, you hardly can imagine what they will grow up to look like exactly, their style, or even their "grown up" voice... (yes, some can be a bit of handful and that "may" give you some inkling as to their future "self", but...)

before you know it, time has passed, and it's already happened...

they've outgrown the bibs and tiny sandals...there isn't a need for sippy cups or baby spoons...

We've focused our energies on helping them, guiding them to become independent...knowing that the day will come, and yet still completely baffled how it arrived so quickly...

When I was first married and moved to Ohio, my husband and I met Brynna's parents.  If I remember correctly, Brynna was a teeny, tiny infant at that time and her younger brother hadn't been thought of yet...We spent considerable amounts of time observing & interacting with her parents...we watched how they carried themselves and how they parented...I can't begin to tell you the impact they had on me as I had the opportunity to sing with her mom and listen to her dad speak.

You spend your time putting one foot in front of the other, everyday, moment by moment...doing the next "right" thing...and time doesn't slow down...

What I often fail to recognize, is the innumerable ways that lives influence other lives just by BEING in the presence of others.

When Brynna's parents reached out to me to photograph her Senior Pictures, not only was I excited to see and spend time with Brynna and the "fruits" of Brian & Renee dedication as parents, but it meant I got to spend a couple hours with Renee again, and oh what good that did my heart!

It isn't difficult to see the incredible qualities that have been invested into their daughters (and son)...

Brynna is not only musically talented, but confident, self-aware, friendly, intelligent...you can't help but smile when you are around her...she just lights up the space!

I have no doubt that she will have just as big of a influence on those with whom she interacts, as did her parents did with me!
