FAMILY SESSION: Fairytale Princess

There are moments that I'm hit with nostalgia...

I was at Nationwide Children's today...one of my daughters needed some testing done (nothing serious...don't worry) ...and the Disney movie Tangled was on the TV in the waiting room.

My daughter and I looked at each other and smiled...we started mouthing the words to the song that Rapunzel was singing...we were amazed that we could recall every measure and we laughed...

In that moment, I saw each of my girls...

twirling in dresses, smiling with all their baby teeth, hair hanging in a beautiful, tousled frenzy...

I heard their tiny voices in my memory...with such passion and emphasis as was typical in my young princesses...

I have tried to soak up every season with each of my girls...some years were harder than others...life gets busy with the older one and the youngers sort of tag along...other times, the baby was all consuming and I just prayed that my older two felt loved despite the fact that I was sleep deprived and nearly fell asleep while reading them stories...

it's all part of the story though...the ebb and the flow...their voices change, and before I know it, we're memorizing Broadway musicals instead of modeling Cinderella's glass slippers...spinning the wide arc of their dresses becomes a faint memory as they don backpacks filled with Algebra and History books...

Pictures will always be stories to me...
and I love the ones that are perfectly IMperfect...

those moments, those quirky, funny memories...it's what engraves itself on our hearts...

This little princess has her own basket full of energy and excitement...and little brother feeds off her enthusiasm with giggles and a gummy grin...

This season will blink by but it will have been captured...recorded...cherished...saved...

her sweet giggle will still be heard...his smile will be etched in his momma's mind...all the Happy, Meaningful Memories will have been captured so that the "story" can be "read" for all the years to come!
